Bantam Salmon Faverolles Bantam faverolles
are some of the cutest, sweetest little chickens around. They have a
full beard and muff and feathered feet. Bantam Faverolles are rare in the US and are listed
as "critical" by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy. The term
"critical" means: fewer than 500 breeding birds in the United States,
with five or fewer primary breeding flocks (50 birds or more), and
globally endangered. The bantam varieties are even more difficult to
find than the standard varieties. The males and females are easy to
distinguish at an early age because they are completely different
colors. Hens = 1.6 lbs, Cocks = 1.9 lbs
Standard Salmon Faverolles This is a full-sized bird that originated as a meat breed, but lay many
medium-sized eggs. They have short legs, distinctive ear muffs and
beards similar to the bantam variety.
I got these after being sooooo happy with the personalities of the
bantams. Adults are just as friendly and calm, not flighty at
all!!! Cocks = 8 lbs Hens = 6 lbs Cockerels = 7 lbs Pullets
= 5.5 lbs
